Easton
7075-T9 Aluminum Poles
Snowtrekker® tents
feature Easton aircraft-grade 7075-T9 aluminum
tent poles. T9 is the highest temper rating an aluminum
alloy can receive. Through a rigorous process of
heat treatment, artificial aging and cold-working,
the poles achieve a tensile strength of 96,000
PSI. So you get an extremely strong pole for very
lightweight.
The
best tent poles provide a rigid, solid base, are
durable and lightweight, and hold precise dimensional
characteristics. Easton’s 7075-T9 poles are
produced to a T9 temper for the best possible combination
of stiffness and toughness.
Shockcord
Freezing conditions, stress and heavy use can make poor quality cord
dangerous. We use only the cord specified by the U.S. Army and
Marine Corps in all of their personal shelters, rated for arctic
temperatures.
Anodized
Only Easton aluminum tent poles, made in the USA, are hard anodized, for
the maximum possible protection against corrosion and wear. This
proprietary process is more complicated than typical, cheap, soft
anodizing used in inferior tent poles. Our tent designs demand reliable
performance year after year, and the Easton anodize is the best.
Tent
Up
Snowtrekker® tents are quick and easy to set up thanks in
part to our new Easton tent poles—a feature that is great after a long
day on the trail in poor conditions when you just want to get the tent
set up quick.
The pole system is internal. It is a saw horse configuration with 2 welded aluminum spiders as unions for the ridge pole and 4 legs. The legs and the ridge pole are 3/4" Easton aluminum tent poles that break down to a package about 28" long and 5" in diameter. The pole sections are bungee corded together.
